LoboCards for Faculty, Staff, And Affiliates

The LoboCard isn't just for students. The LoboCard is the official ID card for faculty, staff, and many others associated with the university as well.

PLEASE NOTE -- The surname on the government-issued ID presented at the desk MUST match, or contain (as in hyphenated surnames) the name in the official record. The LoboCard office cannot make any changes to names. Name changes must be generated by the original data entry office (i.e. Records & Registration for students; HR for staff; Faculty Contract for Faculty) and require an overnight update to be reflected in the carding system.

Regular Staff: Permanent employees of UNM are eligible for a LoboCard when they begin their employment. Staff members can use their LoboCards as a form of identification, access card for various university facilities, and a LoboCa$h card. To obtain a LoboCard, visit the LoboCard Office; bring a government-issued photo ID and your UNM ID number.  You must have submitted your paperwork to HR several days prior in order for your processing to be complete and for you to have a record in the carding system.

Temp Staff: Temp employees will now be issued a LoboCard without additional departmental documentation.  To obtain a LoboCard, visit the LoboCard Office; bring government-issued photo ID and your UNM ID number.  These cards do not allow access to the libraries, Johnson Center, or discounted tickets.

Faculty: Faculty at UNM find the LoboCard handy for access to library services and identification. To get a LoboCard, new faculty should visit the LoboCard Office; bring government-issued photo ID and your UNM ID number.  Because of the complexity of the contract process, faculty members are invited to call the LoboCard Office at 505-277-9970 to confirm the presence of record for them in the carding software before they come to the office.

Contractors: Contractors can also be issued a limited-use LoboCard only if it is required to properly perform the duties of their job. These cards do not allow access to the libraries, Johnson Center, or discounted tickets.

Alumni: Alumni are issued LoboCards only in conjunction with signing a recreational services contract. Alumni interested in using Johnson Center must visit the recreational services desk to establish their contract before the issuance of a Recreational Services card.

Retirees: Retirees are issued LoboCards upon the completion of their employment at UNM. Retirees must turn in their staff or faculty card before receiving their new retiree card, which entitles them to all the benefits associated with UNM retirement.

Affiliates: Certain affiliates to the University are allowed a LoboCard.  The process for obtaining an affiliate card is the same as for regular members of the university community.  These cards do not allow access to the libraries, Johnson Center, or discounted tickets.
